Why Kapwa?

Have you ever asked a friend if they know a good mechanic? How about if they know someone who has a truck you can borrow? Need a babysitter for an evening? Or do you have a diverse skill set and you’re not sure what to do with those talents?

Currently we:

  • post the question on social media and hope someone sees your post and replies to you.

  • Ask family or friends directly and hope they know someone.

What if we had a database with our friends, families and neighbors skills by doing a simple search? Most importantly, it’s people we trust! How have we lived so long not knowing all of the skills, trades, and knowledge that our personal contacts are able to share? Instead we are bombarded with filtered faces, pictures of insta-worthy trips, someone’s new purchase, and a display of a false sense of self-worth.  We don’t have to do that anymore.

Instead, we can serve each other. We can support each other’s small businesses, we can fulfill each other’s needs, and build a self-sufficient community.

A lot of apps have changed the traditional world.  Apps like;

  • Airbnb, room/house rental

  • Turo, car rental

  • Rover, dog sitting

  • Facebook, for better or for worse, has changed the way we interact with friends and family.

  • Facebook marketplace.

Our mission is to create a world where our knowledge, skills, interests and our own needs, will create meaningful, productive interactions to unify our community with one app.

You will know your friends interests, skills, hobbies, and needs, and they will know yours. You don’t have to ask around if anyone knows somebody who does plumbing, photography, carpentry, the list goes on.

Kapwa is a search tool for skills and interests within your personal contacts.

Kapwa is the new social media where productivity is at the core. No more mindless scrolling!

Kapwa is a reason for you to develop your skills or test your new business.

Kapwa will increase your ability to serve your community with a press of a button.

Do you want to be a part of this movement
